The journey starts in rather unfortunate curcumstances, when you find yourself waking in a prison, without a single memory of who you are or how you got there. You are not, however, completely alone when you awake. You have a silent companion who will occasionally provide you with helpful messages, such as this one. Heed this companion's advice well, for I shall not repeat it here.
Now that you are fully awake, might I suggest a quick look around your cell. In the corner to your left, down on the floor. Do you see anything? Mushrooms!. Mushrooms are a wholesome food, so gather them up for later. Here's a helpful tip: SHIFT+Left click to transfer the mushrooms straight to your belt. Good! Now you have a little food should you become peckish.
What else is in here then. A skull. *shudder* A bench. And... Oh! WHo was that walking past the cell door. It must have been the jailer. A nasty piece of work, don't you think? There won't be any getting through that gate in a hurry!
You can't stand around here forever though - that wouldn't be much of a tour! What was that? Over to your right! Another prisoner! Don't be shy now, go and talk to him. That's it! So, he thinks there may be a way out of the cell? It's got to be worth a look. Perhaps you should investigate that gate behind you?
Those bars don't look to strong, do they? And what's that jammed between then. A rock?. Drag that out of the way so you can get a better look at those bars. Give them a good rattle, see what happens. Success! Can't wait to leave the cell, hmmm? Of you go then, but be careful - that jailor's still out there!
On second thoughts, a little more exploring might be in order first. There's something on the floor over there... a bone. Right-click it to arm yourself. Not the best weapon in the world, but it can give a good bashing. Perhaps now you can get past the guard!
I advise you to caution here. Wait until his back is turned and sneak through the shadows to the doorway to your cell. Now wait until he gets into range and... wham! A few more solid whacks... try not to let him get him with those fists of his... Good job! Now search his corpse and see if he was carrying anything useful.
A carrot! You might want to take a nible if you got hurt. If not, pop it into your belt for later. And what's this... a note. Doesn't sound that bright, does he? If everyone around here has his intelligence, getting out shouldn't be too hard.
He had food too! Just look at everything on the table! There's wine, some bread and even a fish. Raw. Eww! May as well take it with you though - you never know what you might find. Feel free to move the chair if you want - our friend isn't about to object to your making yourself comfortable.
What was that noise? Of course! The other prisoner. We should really let him out too, don't you think. There's a lever by his cell door - give it and tug and... there we are. Have a listen to what he says - he knows some useful stuff, this fellow.
So, it's down through the grate to find a way out then. Fair enough - but how about a look around first. There are a couple of bones over in the rubbish by the wall, and... oh my... I think he's dead! Up there, above your head. The sooner you are out of here the better! What about the doors? No. Down it is then!
Crouch down on that grate, brace yourself and give it a good whack!
